Housing Housing Everywhere: One way to make some of it affordable

Earlier this month, the Province of Manitoba announced new legislation that will allow municipalities in Manitoba to encourage or require new developments to include affordable housing. Essentially, the bill empowers municipalities to enact ‘inclusionary zoning.’ In response to this announcement, Sarah Cooper of the CCPA-Manitoba wrote an informative article that describes the opportunity and limitations of the legislation. The article was subsequently printed as an op-ed in the Winnipeg Free Press.
