Goals

The goals of Right to Housing are to:

Recommend solutions to housing problems that will result in effective policy and program action.

Advocate for housing for low-income people through strategies involving all levels of government as well as the private sector.

Focus on social housing for individuals and families in greatest need (aboriginal people, newcomers, people with disabilities and seniors).

Address housing shortage with a three-pronged approach: new supply of safe, quality social housing; rehabilitation of existing supply; and rent subsidies.

Join forces with provincial and national housing coalitions to pressure the federal government to reinstitute a national housing program.
